♥ RSAF Open House 2006

7.50am
Reached the RSAF Open House @ Paya Lebar Airport. Waited till 8.30am before the gate opened. There was a security check, just like before boarding the planes that kind.

8.30am
Saw display of many aircrafts. Saw someone sitting in one of the jet fighter. Of course, I went to queeu up. :) Hmm..waited for about 20-30mins and it was my turn. Quite cool. Quite excited and nervous. I could feel my legs trembling. The buttons and stuff are sophiscated. Asked the uncle to help me take photo. Ugly lar...looked so fat. Wasted. Wanted to board others too but papa said that the queeus are long. So went to this where one whole group of people can enter at the same time.

9.00am
Went to fill up the form for flying on the aircraft quickly. Kiasu me.

10.45am
Watched the Aerial Display, where the uniform personnel showed off their planes and their rescue and attacking procedure. I think. I got these ear plugs and Im not really sure how to use them so I anyhow plugged them into my ears. 4 planes took off before my eyes. Haha. Cool. The planes ZOOM past, turned 180/360 degrees, bombed twice and landed. I didn't know helicopters can turn too. The planes are so cool lar! The ending was the parachutes performance. The Red Lions. They're cool too. Hey, no wonder my house can hear all the ZOOMING and BOMBING sounds. No more after today.

11.50am
Watched the SAFPU Precision Drill. Not bad. This drill was tough, with lots of steps and actions. They must have memorised like crazy to perform like that. The coordination and stuff.

12.00pm
Went to hear the lucky draw. See got kana chosen to fly in the air a not. Waited...waited...and waited....one hour past. The chances are getting smaller and smaller and I already gave up hope and sat down on the ground. Then, "Toh Wan Ling!" "Toh Wan Ling? YEAHYEAHYEAH!! That's me!! Oh gosh! I'm so lucky!!!" I seldom win lucky draws.

After the briefing [hey! I'm a kid too. But why I don't get the chocolates? So unfair. Humph.], we waited for C-130 to arrive. Oh gosh, it's like a dream come true. Been waiting for this chance since a few days ago. Of course I took every chance I have to take photos and video clips. I think that plane is for rescuing people ba. Many seats. I don't know how to describe. It's just...WOW? Being able to sit on these kinds of planes? How many people have the chance? After the aircraft took off, I immeadiately unfastened my seat belt and walked around. A bit unstable though. Hey, walking on a plane! Haha. Quite amazing. The view is WOW!!! It's beyond description. Saw lots of things. Islands, sea, industrial and housing estates. They all look so small! The sea is beautiful. Wonderful moments always end quickly. After 20minutes, which I haven even noticed, we landed. Still ping ming to take photos. Haha. Must make full use of the chance mah.

Went back to the flight zone. Past by backstage. Saw Fiona Xie close up. But it was just a glimsp. Coz the people rushed us. "Running, running....." Aye, THAT SONG! Reminded me of Ms Mole. Haha. Shen Qi. Heard the songs we performed on both days.

Visited othe planes too, take pictures everything.... Saw the AH-64 arming performance. The missels looked fake. Haha. Actually, the planes looked fake too. Like as if they were enlarged from some toy models. But I think all looked like that ba.

Very soon, 9 long hours have passed. I was under the scorching sun for NIE LONG HOURS!!! Of course I turned chao ta. SIAN!!! I DON"T WANT!! My sandals broke. Bought a new pair of sports shoes. OK. My feet is BIG. What can I do?

Oh, by the way...most uniformed personnel looked cool lar, esp with the cool cool sunglasses!! I saw this red sunglasses which I liked it very much. Haha. I want to work there too! Haha. Provided my interest is still there after this year.
